Master Batching Oils #3 AND Pink Himalayan Salt Master batching Oils #1

Time to Master Batch some oils. All the  effort of precisely measuring out my oils only has to be done once. I made two recipes – one for regular soap and another for Pink Himalayan Salt bars.

I keep the first batch in my basement, which is not insulated and stays very cool year round. When I’m ready to make some soap, I use a heating strap to warm up the oils and stir them well for thorough blending.

Master Batch Soap Oils #3

I have tweaked the last recipe a bit. I like a large variety of oils, as each provides so many good things for your skin.

I keep the same percentage of certain oils & butters: 25% Coconut oil and 25% Palm Oil/Palm Kernel Flakes for a hard bar; and 10% of butters for their beneficial properties and added hardness. I also like to incorporate an extract for it’s valuable attributes. The rest of the oils can be mix & match with ones that work for you.

My brain thinks in ounces, but I measure in grams for more precise calculations. I always have percentages, for customizing the recipe to any size.
